On 10 March, Tibetans commemorate the popular uprising against the Chinese occupying power in 1959 in Lhasa. Over 100 Tibetans lost their lives at the time.
Since 1996, hundreds of cities and towns across Europe have raised the Tibetan national flag from their city halls and other public buildings on 10 March. They commemorate the illegal occupation of Tibet by the People's Republic of China, the bloody suppression of the Tibetan uprising and the injustice that is being done to the Tibetan people to this day.
The 10th of March 2023 marks the 64rd anniversary of this day!
China is not only taking massive action against the oppressed population of Tibet, but also against Uyghurs, Southern Mongols, Falun Gong practitioners, Hong Kongers. There are now an estimated 1 re-education camps in China, where between one and one and a half million Uyghurs are imprisoned. It has been reported that up to 000 Tibetans are interned in re-education camps.
We would like to invite you to give a strong signal of solidarity with Tibet. A sign that you honor the decades of non-violent struggle of the Tibetans and support the legitimate right of the Tibetan people to self-determination and the preservation of their cultural and religious identity.
Whoever supports Tibet is for peace, human rights and the principle of non-violence, not against China.
You too can make March 10, 2023 a Day of Solidarity for Tibet and publicly express your solidarity with the Tibetans by hanging a Tibetan flag on your window or balcony, posting it on Facebook or placing it on your website.
